We usually stop in after work to grab something for dinner. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. The food is pretty fresh, and makes for some great dinners.
Seems like a popular joint for retirees. Definitely won't go back.
Mediocre greasy food that was not fresh or tasty. The price they charge does not justify the small amount of food they serve. A mate size oyster basket consisted of 6 tiny oysters that was heavily coated in batter, and they charged $14! The woman with arm tattoos and glasses at the cash register couldn't care less for her job or customer service. No "hi, bye, thank you, or you are welcome" despite the fact that I was polite to her.
I took a few bites and threw the rest away.
Ray's has been around for decades and know how to cook seafood and their homemade fries are some of the best around! No frills or waitresses but the prices are good.
Your basic fried seafood. Decent tasting and the "Captain's" portion is probably enough for 2 normal adults to share, prices are as expected for the area. The interior is reminiscent of a convenience store.
Surprisingly this is the only place in the area to get restaurant quality seafood I worked in the seafood business for 20 years and I don't understand why its still so hard to get fresh seafood these days infect everything you find at the grocery store has been previously frozen except wild caught salmons which still doesn't look as good as fish ive gotten in Ohio 800 miles from the east coast so if your in Vermont and you want fresh seafood Rays is your only option as a retail shopper!
