Food is fabulous. We have been back 7 or 8 times with friends and relatives and everyone has enjoyed the food. The fried chicken is our favorite; large portion, basically half a chicken; crisp, moist and flavorful.
That being said any restaurant will have their issues shortly after opening and anyone who thinks otherwise is probably a bit short sighted.
Girls weekend with mom and sister's description sounded good so we chose to try It. Dinner was oustanding ordered 4 different dinners and shared them every thing was outstanding. Best fried pickles ever.
But I know the brisket is to die for!
After many months, tonight I decided to give them another try, and this time they had brisket!
The Brisk was perfect, 10/5 stars. Mac n cheese was awesome as well. Greens were solid.
Awesome food, really good draft, can and bottled beer selection. Very friendly servers. Cool ambiance. You gotta check it out. Can't wait to go back
Tonight was a 5 star experience but after the first time, I'm not sure if there's a consistency issue or just that they do some things better than others.
I've twice had takeout from here after tonight, and I had a really hard time giving them 4 stars after the first order...
Originally we ordered a couple weeks after opening. They were out of brisket so I ordered the ribs, which I cannot recommend to anyone. Overpriced, dry not, and not very flavorful. My girlfriend had the pulled pork and that was a bit better but not great.
This place is awesome! The food tastes great and the staff is friendly. Oh, and they have a rotating selection of craft beers. We love this place, indeed.
I ordered brisket, Mac n cheese and greens.
The pickled plate is always good and ever changing with a variety of vegetables. The brisket is the best you will find in the Northeast. They also carry a great selection of beers on tap and in bottles (local and national) and always something new and interesting every time we go. You cannot go wrong with Pork and Pickles. Truly a hidden treasure.
Others must love it too, because it can sometimes be really crowded, so get takeout or make a reservation if you aren't patient and go at a popular time.
